After further investigation i was able to uncover that 66.2 is a vlan interface on the switch. There is an ip helper entry that points to 81.29 which is a windows dhcp server. So is this entry normal behavior? Im seeing similar messages on all of our networks.

I have a dumb question on this event log entries....I see the following..... vap: 0, original_server_ip: 172.22.81.29, original_server_mac: 30:E4:DB:13:C7:46 server_ip 172.22.66.2 server_mac 30:E4:DB:13:C7:46 So which one is the dhcp server? I guess my question is how do I decipher whats going on here?

Forgot to mention in the logs it shows a mac address which when I look it up it come back to cisco. Im assuming its our switch however to my knowledge they arent doing dhcp.

I keep getting alerts in my event logs about Multiple DHCP servers being detected. Im running all Meraki MR34's in our environment and our dhcp servers reside on our windows servers. Is there any way I can find out where this is coming from?

Yes thats correct. All of our chromebooks have a managed wifi setting that gets pushed out via the google admin console.

Hi: We are seeing a lot of authentication issues with our chromebooks connecting to our wifi. The issues seem to be in certain rooms but better in other rooms. The devices in queestion are dell 3100 chromebooks and connect via PSK. Our ap's are all on the latest stable release. Whats the best way to troublehsoot this?

So it looks like the firmware update didnt do anything. In speaking with meraki support it seems to be an internal dns issue. Whats weird is that other devices on that same a/p using the same dns server work fine.

Machine has a valid ip and I can ping 8.8.8.8 When I browse to https://1.1.1.1 i get an error message that the connection is not secure. It says it uses an unsupported protocol. It definitely seems like this may be an internal dns issue? I just tried another device on this ap and im seeing the same issue. When I connect to another ap down the hall it works fine. So something is weird with this a/p.

Im having an issue with a windows laptop connecting to our wifi. Radius server shows the following.... Reason Code: 265 Reason: The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted We went ahead and updated that laptop to w10 1909 thinking that may be the issue and then it appeared to connect just fine (no errors in the nps server log) but heres where it gets weird. The machine connects...gets an ip. I can ping it fine and im able to ping out on our lan from that laptop. Its not able to browse the internet at all. I even tried two different browsers. Im at a loss here...clearly something is going on however other clients appear to be fine.

Hi: I have a client that cannot connect to our secure wifi. She is getting an error message that says windows cannot verify the servers identity. On the radius server I see the following error message in the log reason code:16 Reason: Authentication failed due to a user credentials mismatch. Either the user name provided does not map to an existing user account or the password was incorrect. Whats weird is that the laptop connects fine if she goes to another room. Any idea as to why this is going on? All of the aps in this building are registered to the same radius server.

So nevermind apparently I mispoke. You can only setup user and machine auth on the network policy only on the nps server. The connection request policy doesnt have those options. Im attaching screenshots of what my changes look like. What sort of errors should I be looking for in the event log if something isnt working right? Crossing my fingers!! Thanks look

Im looking to compare settings here for others that are using a MS NPS server to authenticate users for secure wifi. We have had a meraki wireless system in place now for five years. From time to time we get staff that complain that they can no longer authenticate to the secure wifi on their windows laptops. I have a suspicion that it happens whenever their A/D credentials expire or when they are first logging onto the machine for the first time and need to change the temp password. What we typically do is hardwire their laptop and have them sign in and then it clears up. I have a feeling that the configuration on our nps server may not be setup right. Something tells me that we need to have the machine authentication turned on as well? Does the machine authentication need to be done in the connection request policy and or network policies on the nps server? For example do I need to modify the conditions and add a machine group? Does it also need to be specified on the GPO object thats being pushed out to the machine as well? In looking over the guide from meraki https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Encryption_and_Authentication/Configuring_RADIUS_Authentication_... It appears that they are using user authentication for the policy on the nps server but machine authentication on the gpo.
