Hi Pete, you must've missed it: Source: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Tools_and_Troubleshooting/Using_the_Cisco_Meraki_Device_Local_Status_Page That page is also linked to from this page: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Tools_and_Troubleshooting/Using_the_Cisco_Meraki_Device_Local_Status_Page From a networking standpoint it's kind of logical. If there is no DHCP server available you need to set your own IP address. And to be able to reach the switch it needs to be in the same range. Good that it worked out in the end!

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, I'm not sure the other proactive alerting mechanisms are any more secure (certainly not compared to properly implemented SNMPv3)

Solve! at least for me... My MX is integrated with Umbrella and in order to make this work you must apply Group Policies to devices and the Group Policy must be set to 'Custom Network Firewall & Traffic Shaping Rules'. This means any host in that group will ignore the Firewall rules and must be configured in the group. Once I configured the rules in the policy all traffic was blocked.

Correct, that number should work to claim the trial and then you should see it on the Organization > License Info page in the "Active Trials" section. Worst case, give Meraki Support a ring to make sure the trial equipment & license is properly claimed into your Org.

Sure - upon reading it again though - the packet by packet solution works only when you have a device at both ends (i.e. site to site), doubtful it works on the internet. It works by sending the traffic on one link and forward error correction packets on the second. Then it puts the stream back together in the right order. They claim they can use the forward error correction packets as well on a single link. I've not tried it.

You can't get exactly what you want, but check out the Organisation Summary report, as it gives close to what you want. https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Monitoring_and_Reporting/Summary_Report_Overview
