Yes, PC are still the same as well. Site hasn't noticed difference.  I may contact the ISP again, they said the circuit is seeing no different times or setting since the issue started. ... View more

About a month ago one of our many Mx64 Meraki appliances had a jump in latency from 24 ms to 30-40 ms on average.  I contacted the ISP that covers that site and area and they advised that they have no latency up to their gear.  I ran a trace and it appears everything is 1ms or less up until their gear which it doesn't hit and then the Mx64 which gets a 34+ms final hop.  Anyone know why this may have happened, if their is a bug on 14.40 version, what I should be checking to fix or improve this, or what I should be checking on? I have rebooted our gear, ISP rebooted his gear. The Template we are using is pretty basic, we don't traffic shape, and everything for the most part is allowed. Any advice or helpful troubleshooting thoughts are appreciated.    Thanks, ... View more

A Vlan is a lot like a food for your kids, Carl.  When your kids are eating you probably noticed they don't like to eat potatoes with their peas mixed in so they sometimes separate the foods with their spoon or hand or fork.  A Vlan also works as a divider stopping certain traffic from talking to other traffic.  It also stops a break in one Vlan( Virtual-Lan) from messing up the other Vlans usually, similarly if your kids let all their food touch they would have a meltdown, Carl.  A full network down is a lot worse than just part of the network being down, just like if the peas touch the potatoes, but the beef roast was still safe. If that were to happen your kid could still eat something, and if the one Vlan broke the other Vlans, typically, won't break as well and can still be salvaged! This is how the vlan domains work, at layer 2... This changes a bit once we introduce inter-Vlan routing, or kids matching specific food! I hope this helps Carl!   ... View more

Hello,   I have just integrated my Meraki Dashboard test organization into our DNAC test setup...  It took a while to get it actually communicated but after it did the meraki devices come up with the name "null".  Anyone here know how to get that changed or communicating the correct host name? ... The two places I recently installed that are having issues are different... I forgot to include this information... site 1: Meraki was not setup via DHCP it was setup via PPPoE connection  and site 2: the WAN was setup with static information... could this be the issue on why the polling is incorrect?   ... Previously, before I started, and directly after I started was the boom for us using Meraki. When I first got to the company I installed one and it would poll perfectly but since then I started becoming one of our main Meraki guys... Now most recently when I install merakis the polling is failing. I have the same community string and the exact same settings in the dashboard. Any Guides or tips on what may be missing would be useful! ... View more

Block connections to the internet

So I am trying to bring up a Test Meraki on my network via  a normal LAN connection... It goes through 2 switches and a Router into the wan...  I could not get it up via DHCP(obviously) but set a private IP, subnet etc... This is where my road block is... It tells me that it is connected to a local network (ip address). It says I am connected to the internet but it says this security appliance is not connected to the Cisco Meraki Cloud... It requests I open firewall ports... This network topology does not utilize a firewall... Any Ideas to bring this connection up would be awesome! This is mostly for a test environment so that I can check out future deployments etc without taking anything in production down. ... View more
