Turn off BLE on some APs and turn down distance

Hi,

I have just turned on BLE at one of my sites which houses 20 MR32s.  We are trailing asset tracking. Some of the APs however will not be required for tracking assets, there are only about 7 out of the 20 where the assets will pass through.  Is there a way to turn off BLE on the remaining 13?

Also, do anyone know of a way to turn down the signal strength?  As I am finding they are not connecting to the nearest one as there must be a large overlap of signal.

Basically the idea of these changes is to better pin point the accuracy of the location of these assets.

Hope this makes sense.

I appreciate any response.

Regards

Adam

Kind of a big deal

When you say turn down the signal, are you talking about the strength of the beacons sent out or the WiFi?

If it's the BLE beacons, then no, you can't adapt that at the moment I think:

https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Bluetooth/Bluetooth_Low_Energy_(BLE)

If it's the WiFi then yes, you can via Wireless > Radio Settings:

I found the explanation by davidgyoung here very good and wanted to share it:

Hi Adam,

Bluetooth scanning is enabled/disabled per network. If you want to have the capability to do it per AP, I would kindly suggest to make a feature request via Make a wish.
