Private and Public IP Address in MR

Hi All,

Can someone please explain why MR Wireless AP have 2 IP Address Assigned Private and Public.

What are the difference in it and from where MR AP's are getting public IP's and what is the purpose if it.

@Naresh_Bhardwaj the private IP is the directly assigned IP just for the AP on your LAN.  The public IP shows where it exits your LAN and goes to the internet, i.e. usually the public IP address of your firewall.

Thanks cmr

Ok if its the firewall IP i can see all the MR AP's in an Network are having same public IP address. Is this Public IP is used by MR AP's for the communication with Meraki Dashboard and Is Meraki MX Firewall maintains mapping table with IP address and port or how it manage to give single IP to all the MR AP's and differentiate those MR devices if reply comes back from Meraki Dashboard for the device.

@Naresh_Bhardwaj exactly, the firewall maintains a Network Address Translation table so that it knows what internal IP matches up to each conversation so that the correct AP gets the reply to the contact with the dashboard.
