Identifying clients using 802.11w

Hi.

I was wondering if there is a way to identify which clients that support/'are using' 802.11w from the dashboard.

Thanks.

Here to help

Hammer.

From a mile high overview, there is no option to view wireless devices that support 802.11w from Dashboard.

You would have to take captures on the wireless interface in order to view negotiation between the AP and client. Most new 802.11ac supported devices "should" also support 802.11w, but verify with the manufacturer specifications.

Getting noticed

Hi @nwu1,

That's what I thought and packet captures on the air is something I was looking to avoid.

What I was really trying to discover was if there are any devices that support 802.11w but choose not to use it when 'enabled' is selected on the Meraki APs, i.e. the drivers are poorly written, or maybe a bug in a particular version of the drivers.

This is an interesting command "netsh wlan show driver" from that second link you share. Could come in very handy one day!

Thanks.
