Firmware Upgrade 25.13 to MR 31.1.6

Hi All

We're required to do a firmware update on our wireless access points as we're very out of date. We have the following Meraki Wireless products in production which i believe are all compatible with the latest firmware based on my research.

MS350-48LP x14

MR33 x 2

MS36 x 1

Firmware Upgrade 25.13 to MR 31.1.6

Is it safe for us to do this upgrade with such a big jump in firmware?

Are all of our devices compatible with this upgrade?

Any other advise would be great

It should be safe in general.

Your MR33s will only go to the latest 30.x release.

There are no specific compatibility requirements between switches and aps, so your MS350s should not have any bearing on the situation.

Thank you

the schedule upgrade and can only go to the 31.1.6 - can you envision us having any issues based on the MR33 only being able to be placed on the following firmware 30.x

Should we look to replace these before completing the upgrade?

I have not personally seen any issues in my mixed environments. Nor have I heard of any from others.

I would not wait considering all the possible security issues you could have being that far behind.

You could also talk to support and they can put the whole network on 30.x from the backend if there are issues.

Yes, it is safe, but if you don't feel comfortable, I recommend that you don't update everything at once. Update one device, monitor how it goes and move on to the next ones, and of course always do it in a scheduled maintenance window.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
