Fast Way To Apply A Policy On A Device

Hi Everyone,

The Meraki portal admin centre is very good. We have in place the maps of our buildings and we can see where our APs are.

With the power of the admin centre we can see what devices are on an AP we can also see very quickly which devices are using a lot of data and when we click into the detail of the device we can see where it is and just what apps have been used on that device.

What is frustrating is that I can not quickly apply a blocked policy on a device that I see should not be on the Wi-Fi on that device detail screen, I have to click clients to go back to the list of the clicks and ensure that the tick the correct device to apply the blocked policy.

Could someone look at this screen to give the option to apply a blocked policy as well as showing current status?

Hi @YBerllan,

By device details screen do you mean the Client details screen? If so you can apply a blocked policy there, like so:

If that's not the screen you're referring to can you be a bit more specific?

Hi

Fab I see it now. I was looking around the device and not at the bottom.

Many thanks.

Guys,

Tried your suggestion this morning and it does not work. It appears to give you the option to click the radio button, but it does not stick and I see no option to save. Also you are not able to add the text comment.

SO......

Please, can we have a quick way to change the policy on a clients device?

Kind regards

John

Hi @YBerllan,

Are you saying you cannot select the radio button and add text like this:

I also have a save button. None of this is working for you?

What type of network is it? What version are the devices running?

No, sorry, I meant what type of dashboard network is it? MX? MR? Combined?

And what version of code are the devices in the network running?

This looks correct - if you click the circle to the left of "Blocked" a box to type in will appear. The save button will show up on the bottom of the box that appears.
