EAPoL Timeout Every 8 Hours

We have an issue with the APs encountering EAPOL timeout at exactly 8 hours. The disconnection occurred at exactly 8 hours from the time the client successfully authenticated on the ISE functioning as a RADIUS server. Client laptop authenticated at Jul 30 4:05 PM and got disconnected at Jul 31 12:05 AM.

 

This is also being encountered by multiple clients.

The RADIUS session expiration is set to 36000 seconds (10hours) so this disconnection on the AP is very odd. Please investigate on this. I have attached the packet captures as well

Has anyone encountered this before and solved the issue?

Hi ,

 

Couple questions.  

1- What AP model(s) ?

2- What type of client ?

3- What firmware are you running ?

4- 802.11r enabled ?

Hi @RaphaelL 

 

1. We are using CW9164I

2. These are laptops running on Igel OS. They tend to stay on single AP without roaming with in that 8-hour window

3. All our APs are running MR 30.6

4. 802.11r is enabled

Was there a resolution found for this?  We are having the same issue with the same APs, Devices, Firmware, and settings.
