Device Authentication

Hi - We are looking to re-design our wireless networks. Currently, we have a WPA 2 word and would like to change that to authentication by device not user. So only district-owned devices can get onto a certain wireless SSID. What is the best way to do this? I am looking at MAC-based authentication. That would be about 6000 devices to register their mac addresses.

Any thoughts is appreciated.

Kind of a big deal

What kind of devices?  I think you want to use some type of device management (like Meraki Systems Manager).  Take a look at this for an overview: https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Deployment_Guides/Education_Deployment_Guide_and_Best_Practices

Thanks for your response. We have a mix of Macbooks and Chromebooks with a couple Windows spattered in there. I will take a look at SSM.
