DHCP Option 43 for a Huawei AP7030DE

Has anyone ever set up DHCP option 43 to point an Huawei WAP towards the Wireless Controller at a remote site?

With the type set for Text or IP & using the ip address, it does not register.

So trying to work out the hex value, the actual IP address is not a problem, its the values before the ip address that are an unknown.

Can anyone assist with how to work out the hex value?

I think this is not the right community for this question.

Hi alemabraho, why would you think that, as its related to getting an AP connected?

This community is about Cisco Meraki products not Huawei.

If you want to make the conversion use this calculator.

I was looking for assistance in configuring a Meraki MX64 to support connectivity for a Huawei AP.

Isn't that the point of these communities to help with issues not covered by the manufacturer?

You should have informed this at the beginning of the topic, but here we go.

On the DHCP configuration page just add a custom option.

And use that site sent earlier to convert the decimal IP to hexadecimal.

You can use the same format that is used by Cisco Controller.

Sorry for the confusion, but i know how to add the option, i was wondering if anyone else had done this for a Huawei WAP & knew the correct hex value. I know how to translate the IP address to hex, its the hex characters that need to go before the ip address i need to find?

Have you not read the vendor's documentation?

Tried various options & the working solution was 01:08:0a:14:0b:07:0a:14:15:07 using suboption 1, pointing at controller IP addresses 10.20.11.7 & 10.20.21.7

May help someone else out in the future
