Capture user info from plash page

We are trying to get around an issue where we cant find specific users on the network because Meraki reports the iPhone mac address and model only and no device name or user info.

We have users on the guest network, browsing sites they shouldn't be but nailing these users down is currently difficult.

Can we create a splash page that automatically captures the user's Mac and asks them to input their name before connecting, marrying the 2 pieces of data together?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The hostname usually is captured unless there is some privacy feature enabled on the iPhone.
If you are doing dot1x or splash page users you should be able to see the user if you enable the user column in the clients page.  Also splash logins are visible in dashboard so you can find your device there too if your splash page is doing any kind of authentication.

Thanks, authenticating the users via a splash page is difficult as it's a guest network, and not all users will be internal staff.

I have enabled the user column but it displays no info, It's an issue we have had with iPhones for a while.
