Can we use a MR36 as AP in a remote site with a Bell firewall (no Meraki MX)?

Hi

I am going to put a MR36 as WiFi AP in a remote site with Bell ISP (no Meraki MX in the site). Would it work for same SSIDs in our Wireless system and will show the Meraki dashboard?

Thank you

If you are using PSK authentication or one of Meraki's cloud-based authentication options and they only need Internet access, then it is very simple. This will do exactly what you need.

It should connect to the Dashboard as long as there is internet. Whether your ssids will work as intended will depend on how they are setup. If you are using VLAN tagging you will probably need to adjust that. If any of your connectivity needs require things only accessible from the other site, that will not work.

You could investigate this: https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Client_Addressing_and_Bridging/SSID_Tunneling_and_Layer_3_Roamin... if your require access to things behind the MX.

It is not clear to me what your intended outcome is.

Do you intend for traffic on the SSIDs in the remote site to be delivered to your main site?  If so, you would need to MX at your main site, and to use SSID tunneling.

Thank you for your response.

that is a remote site, just for internet access via the Meraki APs but we need to have the management of APs in our Meraki dashboard, such as change the password of WiFi, create SSIDs etc

Yes, we use the PSK and only need the Internet access. Thank you PhilipDAth!
