Blocking Proxy Avoidance

Is there a way to block Proxy Avoidance sites in the Firewall & Traffic Shaping page under Block applications and content categories?  I don't see it on the list and want to make sure we are blocking Proxy Avoidance sites.

Kind of a big deal

To block proxy avoidance sites on your Meraki MX, start by enabling content filtering under Security & SD-WAN > Content Filtering and blocking the Anonymizer category. You can also manually block specific proxy site domains by adding them to Blocked URL Patterns.

In Firewall > Layer 7 Rules, set up rules to block VPN and proxy applications. For extra protection, enable IDS/IPS in Threat Protection with the "Balanced" or "Security" setting.

Keep an eye on network traffic in the Clients page to identify any proxy usage and adjust your filters as needed.

@techfldusd You are better to be blocking applications on a firewall rather than on the access points themselves.

Just an update:

We do not have or use an MX Firewall.  We are only using the Meraki Switches and Access Points.  We have the VPN category blocked at our Firewall, but just wanted to add an extra layer of security and prevent it in the Firewall and Traffic Shaping if it was an option.

Thank you!
