Since CW APs already have a GPS chip to enable auto AP placement, does it work for CW APs working in Meraki mode?
Does it have any dependence on Cisco Spaces?
Solved! Go to solution.
I haven't seen any announcement for that. Neither for an Auto-Locate feature nor for the external GNSS module. Only the CW9163E has this module built in.

Just announced on MFD11: AutoLocate is landing soon:
It's been released as an early access feature for firmware 31.1 and above. (Organisation -> Early Access)
There's no documentation available for it yet but I imagine it won't be long before that it also provided.
Hello Meraki Community,
Are you tired of the time-consuming process of network planning and deployment? Are you struggling to maintain accurate and up-to-date information about APs locations? Solve these issues of Day 0 to Day N deployments with AP Auto Locate.
We are seeking participants capable of implementing this feature for large-scale networks that have 8+ compatible APs on a floor plan to work with and provide valuable feedback to the Cisco Wireless product team. This adoption insight will help us refine AP Auto Locate and make it even better!
If interested, please sign up using the link below to onboard yourself to the Stomio project for feature testing. Based on your network characteristics, we will contact you to gather information on your experience.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your participation!
Indoor CW916x APs do not have integrated GPS. However, a GPS is not required for AP Auto Locate! AP Auto Locate works by using RF to accurately measure distances between your APs, and then using that information to determine each AP's relative position to one another. We then ask you to manually place a few "anchor" APs and the rest will automatically position themselves on maps.
It works on the following AP models in Meraki mode, and there is no dependency on Cisco Spaces:
CW9166, CW9164, CW9162, MR57, MR56, MR36, MR36H, MR78.
If you have tried it, I'd like to hear about your experience with the feature!
