Auto Channel Width

Hi guys,

Do you use Auto or Manual under 5 GHZ radio settings?  We have things set at 20 and 40 for various networks, but I am interested in A.I. ing as much of our network as possible.  Especially as things improve with A.I. features on the Meraki side.

Generally Cisco's recommendation will be to leave it automatic, but I personally prefer to manually set it to 40 so as not to reduce the number of useful channels too much.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

I used a little mix of both with leaving things on auto and doing manual in certain situations but every environment is different.

Basically 2 options: 😀

Manual settings offer more control over your network configuration, allowing you to fine-tune parameters to optimize performance and minimize interference. While they require more time and expertise to configure, manual settings can provide greater flexibility and customization.

Auto RF conditions and adjust settings dynamically to optimize performance and minimize interference, providing an excellent balance between convenience and performance.
