Hotel group here - we were one of the launch partners for the MR30H, the 36' predecessor. The 36H is great for what it is, and nothing more (which isn't a bad thing). It really should be in a gang box, but if it needs to be surface mounted you can get a surface mount gang box and attach it there. Use a right angle ethernet cable as the space is probably compact behind it.
The only real drawback on the 36H compared to the 30H was the removal of one of the switch ports, now it is a straight passthrough from a 2nd port on the back. Not nearly as handy, so you only have 3 switch ports available to you.
There used to be quite a bit of instability with VLANs and the switch ports, but this has been solved for a while now and we haven't seen any problems in 12+ months. Also remember due to its smaller size it is only a 2x2:2 802.11ax unit - no 6ghz.
