Why MR Access Point constanly pinging 8.8.8.8 and pings are being block by the firewall?

8.8.8.8 is Googles DNS, it's the MR doing a connectivity check.

Meraki dashboard isnt good enough to ping so they use other services.. to tereminate if the APs are up and working..

I heard that google didn't like devices pinging 8.8.8.8 constantly and they start rate limiting the IP, not sure how true it is.

 

Don't understand why Meraki don't ping the parent Cisco open DNS servers ??
