Meraki Community Migration FAQ

Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions related to the Meraki Community migration to Cisco Community.

Table of Contents:

🔐 USER ACCOUNTS & LOGIN

Do I need to take any action?
No. Your account will automatically migrate. You will continue logging in using your Cisco ID just as you do today.

What happens to my account stats?
Your account stats (posts, kudos, solutions, and other contributions) will move with you. If you have accounts in both the Meraki Community and Cisco Community, your stats will be combined to reflect your total contributions across both communities.

What happens if I already have a Cisco Community account?

Your migrated profile will default to the username and avatar associated with your existing Cisco Community account. Your Meraki stats will merge with your Cisco stats into one unified account.

What if my username is already taken in the Cisco Community?

If your Meraki Community username is not available in the Cisco Community, you will get a number appended to it starting with 1 and progressing as needed. E.g. if your username in the Meraki Community is Eric, but Eric, Eric1, and Eric2 are already taken in the Cisco Community, your new username will be Eric3.

I can’t log in or am having trouble with my account.

Please email our team at community-help@meraki.com.

🏅 BADGES & RECOGNITION

What will happen to my badges?

The following Meraki badges will migrate with you:

  • ECMS 1
  • ECMS 2
  • CMNA
  • CMNO
  • CMSS
  • Meraki FIT Level One
  • Meraki FIT Level Two
  • Rising Star
  • Everybody Wins
  • Meraki All-Star
  • Employee All-Star
  • Solution Squad

What about Member of the Month and Employee of the Month badges?

These will be consolidated into one badge per year. For example, if you won MOTM in both November and December 2024, you will receive the MOTM 2024 badge in the Cisco Community.

What happens to the All-Stars program?

The Meraki All-Stars program will continue through 2026. Starting in 2027, the All-Stars program will be retired and members will qualify for the Cisco VIP Awards.

📍 CONTENT, CATEGORIES & URLS

Where will Meraki content live in the Cisco Community?

Meraki content will be located primarily in the Networking category, across several forums. For example, the content from the Meraki Community Wireless forum has moved into Networking > Wireless.

Additional areas outside of the Cisco Community Networking category include:

  • Smart Cameras and Sensors → Internet of Things
  • Meraki Developer & API topics → DevNet

You will be able to find a high-level view of where each Meraki category and board will live on our Meraki landing page after we migrate. There’s also a detailed table available in this document in the meantime.

How will I find Meraki content in the new community?

We will have a Meraki landing page in the Cisco Community that links to all Meraki forums, resources, and programs to give you a one-stop home base.

What happens to pages I’ve bookmarked?

All URLs will automatically redirect you to their new locations on the Cisco Community. The primary URL community.meraki.com will redirect to the new Meraki landing page.

🎨 MERAKI IDENTITY & EXPERIENCE

How will Meraki’s identity be preserved in the Cisco Community?

We’re committed to keeping Meraki’s community personality alive.
This includes:

  • A dedicated Meraki landing page
  • Programs that highlight Meraki discussions, content, and member contributions
  • Continuation of engagement programs, monthly contests, and recognition efforts
  • Surfacing Meraki-focused experts throughout the community

Will contests and community events continue?

Yes! Our monthly contests and engagement programs will continue within the Networking category of the Cisco Community.

Will search still surface Meraki-specific content?

Meraki content will be indexed within the Cisco Community search, and our Meraki landing page will make it easy to find product-specific forums and discussions.

Can I filter by Meraki topics only?

Yes, Meraki labels are being migrated into the new forums in the Cisco Community, and the Meraki landing page will provide direct navigation to all Meraki areas.
