configure an uplink port

I am trying to configure an uplink port but the switch (MS120) remains orange. I have no experience with Meraki so I guess it is something simple that I have missed. All help is appreciated.

My uplink port:

Typ: Trunk

Native vlan: 1

Allowed vlans: all

RSTP: enabled

STP guard: disabled

Port schedule: Unscheduled

Port isolation: Disabled

Thank you all for all help. It is now solved but unfortunately I am not sure what the problem was. Maybe it just took some time for the switches to get the configuration. Anyhow, now it works.

Is this a brand new Meraki Switch?  If so, does that VLAN have Internet access and DHCP configured?

If so then check the switches local status page to see what it is complaining about.

Yes, it is brand new. It is set to receive IP from DHCP and the VLAN have internet access but for some reason the switch will not receive any IP. That is what I am trying to do with the uplink port. The status page in the Dashboard telling me this: "Has never connected to the Meraki cloud".

I looked at the link but it don't look the same for me. I don't have the uplink configuration tab.

Dashboard: Switch\Switches\clicking on the switch and the status page open.

Reset the switch to factory default:

Connect one of the switchports to the internet modem/router that can provide a DHCP address to the switch. Be sure that the switch can reach the cloud: https://documentation.meraki.com/zGeneral_Administration/Other_Topics/Firewall_Rules_for_Cloud_Conne...
In most cases that would not be an issue.

Has your upstream switch got any security features configured like BPDU guard or port security?

You need to look at the local status page to see what the Meraki switch is reporting.

This looks an awful lot like the settings for an MS switchport. If your switch cannot reach the dashboard then setting these values in the dashboard is not going to help you yet. You switch first needs to be connected to the dashboard before you can configure it via the dashboard.

If the switch is "out of the box", connect on of the switchports to the internet. For example an internet router/modem that can provide the switch with an IP address. This is the only way the switch can connect to the Meraki dashboard. Connect to the dashboard and configure the switch from there.

https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/MS_Overview_and_Specifications/MS120_Overview_and_Specifications states the following:

Common Troubleshooting

My device is connected to the network but not checking in to the Meraki cloud or shows a solid Orange LED.

Confirm that the device is powered on and has a valid IP address that is able to access the Internet. Use the Local Status Page to get more information about the connectivity status of the device such as if it can successfully reach the Local Gateway, Internet, and/or Meraki Cloud servers. If necessary, contact Meraki Support for additional assistance.
