What happens to the switches if you delete a stack on the dashboard?

So we are downsizing, and going to a single switch.  We are going to keep the 2nd switch as a backup.  Issue is that they are stacked in the dashboard.  We have moved all the cabling to the one switch and everything is running smoothly.  If I go in and delete the stack to remove the switch we are not using, will that wipe out all the items on the other switch?

Don’t delete the stack, just remove the switch from the stack.
