Warm Spare / Data Center HA

Hello,

My question relates to an issue we see as a DRaaS provider.  I would like to know more about the Warm Spare and the data center HA feature of the Meraki. Having the ability to have two devices with the same internal IPs and FW rules in different datacenters would be nice. There's a number of ways I've been able to achieve similar functionality, but most, if not all, require engineer intervention at the time of failover.

Reading the Meraki docs, I've seen mention of a Warm Space and Data Center HA.  Can someone point me in the direction of some documentation that's more in-depth than the usual marketing wank?

Can the Warm Stand by feature span to a diverse dc? Or is that a function of the HA feature?

if anyone has leveraged these features for data center failover, I'd like to hear your experiences.

Thanks

DR

Hi @DisasterRecover

The DC failover element relates to the Meraki Auto VPN functionally.  Details can be found below:

I'm not an employee of Cisco/Meraki. My posts are based on Meraki best practice and what has worked for me in the field.

You can have a warm spare configuration if the layer 2 network is extended to the DR site.
