Trying to tie an MX105 and C9300 together with a Direct Attach cable. Is it possible?
I have an MX105 and I want to tie that MX to a new switch stack. I am thinking of going with the C9300X-24HX-M's with either a C9300X-NM-8Y-M or a C9300X-NM-8M. Are there any Direct Attach cables that work to tie both of those devices together? What I am reading the MX would want to use one of these MA-CBL-TA-1M and the C9300X would want to use a SFP-H25G-CU1M=. Does that mean neither would accept the other cable, even though physically it would fit in the same slot?
I use a SFP-H10GB-CU1M to connect my MS355 to my MX95. Works fine. In general MXs accept a lot of brands of transceivers. Of course the disclaimer is this is the approved list of transceivers.
So how about this one then? SFP-H10GB-CU1M. The MX105 supports 10 Gig, but this doc (Small-Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) and Stacking Accessories - Cisco Meraki Documentation) does not show it on the list. the opposite is true if you look at that same doc for this cable (MA-CBL-TA-1M). It shows that ii supports the c9300 and the c9300L but not the c9300x.
and now Meraki Support just came back and said to use the MA-CBL-TA-1M
Yes, the MA-CBL-TA-1M will still work. It's a Direct Attach Cable with SFP+ support for 10 Gigabit Ethernet hardware which supports the devices you want to connect.
