Stacking existing switches

We currently have two MS225-48 switches which are in our network core at our hosting facility.  They are currently independent switches and have switchports configured as access ports for specific vlans.  We are revamping our compute and storage infrastructure and require the ability to aggregate 4 of the 10g SFP+ ports in our MS225 switches.

We want to aggregate two ports on each switch but the switches are not currently stacked.

We are somewhat comfortable with the meraki documentation on creating the switch stack but we are worried that our port configurations will be lost when we create the stack.  Does port configuration get wiped out when new stacks are created?  If so, is there documentation on the best way to retain port configuration?  Do we have to reconfigure all the ports after the stack is created?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks.  It looks like that thread indicates that our switchport configs will remain after we create the stack. Thanks for the link
