Stacking Cable Revisions?
Hello,
today i noticed something regarding the stacking cables (MA-CBL-40G). For a while we had issues creating stacks... the stacking ports would not come up in 9 out of 10 tries/reboots.
Finally, i think i found the cause: This must be due to some old stacking cables our customer had.
I have cables, which are labeled with "MA-CBL-40G-50CM 600-22120" - these are the ones, which do not work most times in our MS410-16 switches.
And i have cables, which are labeled with "MA-CBL-40G-50CM 600-22120-A" - these cables work just fine with the MS410-16.
I was just wondering if there are really two different revisions of the cables... i've never read anything about this so far.
Can someone confirm this? Or had similar issues with stacking?
Best regads
Tobi

I've had my fair share of stacking cables but I have yet to find any faulty one.
I'll keep a look out for any though.

i'm not saying that they're faulty... they are different.

All of our stack cables are the -A variant. However, we're a relatively new deployment at just under 2 years old.

i guess the cables i'm talking about are at least 6-7 years old.
