Some hosts not visible in Clients overview

I have noticed that sometimes hosts/computers are not visible in the Monitoring  > Clients overview. 

 

Also when I look at the port to which it is connected, the port says connected but is says "There have been no connected clients on this port for the selected time range."

 

When I ping the devices from the switch then suddenly they become available in the clients overview.

 

I was actually hoping the Clients overview would always include all connected devices but it seems this is not the case? 

 

Any idea?

Hello,

In my experience, I've noticed that the clients would only show up under the Client page if it passes some significant amount of data through the devices. However, the client should show up on the client page after that and if it does not then that would be unexpected behaviour.
