Random outage overnight

I came into work this morning and saw email notifications that 5 switches out of 45 had gone offline at a random time.

  • No one was onsite so not human error.
  • All from random parts of the network with no pattern.
  • The switches didn't reboot just lost connectivity to the cloud.
  • It only appears to have affected MS120 switches but not all of them (5 out of 16)
  • I've checked our SDWan and all interfaces were fine with no packet loss, excessive jitter or outages.
  • Status.meraki.com reports no outages
  • Event log shows nothing at all not even port status change.

I'm at a loss to explain what happened and I don't like anomilies like this.

And who likes it? I would open a support case for them to investigate.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.

Yip I am going to, I just thought I would see if anything else had the same issue.

Those that wouldn't be bothered are the same people that end up in the r/Shi**Sysadmin on Reddit.

All good here @BlakeRichardson on shards 184 and 199, what shard are they on?

This might be a false positive.  I wonder if they were doing an upgrade on your shard.
