RSTP on Uplink?

Hi all!  

Looking for best practices for RSTP at the core switch level.  Is it necessary to have RSTP configured on our uplink/upstream to our WAN?  Should RSTP be enabled on the downstream [trunk] ports from the CORE to our LAN switches throughout the environment?

Quick reference for topology sake:

LAN (MR-350s) --> CORE (MS-425s) --> Firewall --> WAN

Its never necessary. But meraki has no layer3 ports.  And humans make mistakes so i would still let it enabled where you can
