Port on the switch disabled question - Do ports automatically disable themselves if not connected?

Hi,

On our network an office was offline due to port 2 on the Meraki 220 8P switch being disabled. I am sure this has always been set to enabled as it's connected to the netgear switch on site. A person on site checked and wasn't sure if the network cable was connected correctly at both end (from port 2 to the switch). They reseated the cable at both ends then. If the network cable isn't connected correctly will the Meraki device disable the port then at some stage?

Thanks

You should have a look through the Organization > Monitor > Change log to see who disabled it.   If you can't find anything there, find the port in the Dashboard and look at the Event log for it (through live tools, top centre of the page)

@phelimmc in short, no.  Someone must have disabled it as @GreenMan said.
