New Smart Alert: MAC Address Flap Anomaly - YEAHHHHH

***NEW FEATURE****

Introducing New Smart Alert: MAC Address Flap Anomaly June 30, 2023
Switch networks

We are excited to announce a new smart alert - MAC flap anomaly. Sometimes, MAC flap detection events can become noisy due to wireless roaming, which is expected. Due to this noise, it is hard to tell which events are expected versus unexpected. To solve this problem, Cisco Meraki has built this smart alert to help detect these unexpected events more accurately.

Thank you Meraki for listening to us, thank you for this feature.
it will make evaluating events much easier.

How many of you still think this is great or had the problem with the "crowded" event logs?

Honestly , never paid attention to these events. They were all false alarms ( as expected from roaming ).

Seems nice ,but really unsure how I'm going to see these alerts in the wild.

Is there any way to avoid spamming in event log and alerting because of this "MAC address flap anomaly"?

Maybe by adjusting some settings in Dashboard/for APs?

Switches alerting due to end-users roaming is a bit more than annoying in Enterprise environment.

So you have to "ignore" the switch event logs and mostly rely on the Alert Hub :
