Moving a Stack Between Networks

Hello!

I need to move a stack of two MS225-24Ps between networks in my organization, and I'm a bit confused by the wording in this document.

Does anyone know what, "to move switches part of a stack, the stack needs to be broken" means? I assume this means the stack needs to be deleted from the original network and recreated in the new network, while keeping the physical connections in place.

Yes, your understanding is correct. The stack needs to be broken and you need to remove the switches from the stack configuration in the original network before moving them to the new network.

Ok, so what does the process look like if I have aggregated ports between the stacked switches? Is the order as follows?

1. Split LACP ports
2. Delete the stack
3. Move switches
4. Re-create the stack
5. Re-configure ports

Another question: the stack ports will continue to function normally when the switches are not part of a stack in the dashboard, correct?
