MS350 vs MS390

Dear team,

I am looking to purchase an MS24 PoE switch to support my MR 44 Setups (have 5 of them along with meraki cameras and Cisco phone).

Which model do you recommend for better performance/future proof between the two 24P models which provides better .ax performance and bandwidth ?

Thanks

If you're purely looking at performance there should be no real difference between the two depending which model of MS390 you take.

The main driver that would steer you towards MS390 instead of the MS350 at this time is if your design includes L3 switching and Cisco Trustsec/Adaptive Policy.  If these features are not in your design you could have a bigger case for the MS350's.

The issue with the MS390 is that it in fact is a Cisco Catalyst switch running Meraki software and the integration is not 100% smooth at this time.

Having said that, at some point all Meraki future switches will move to the Catalyst hardware model since the UADP chip offers more future proof features.

So your choice is between a mature and stable platform vs a young, promising but beta platform.

@mkattan the summary by @GIdenJoe is pretty good.  But I'd strongly recommend the traditional Meraki switches like the MS350, or the MS355 if you can as it has better stacking and uplink options.

The only reasons to go for the MS390 are stackpower (if it works) and the advanced features.  If you don't need those then the MS355 is not going to give you half as much grief.

Thanks a lot.

This helps.

Will go with Cisco's young's MS390.
