MS120-48

For the last month I have been trying isolate why our stream to YouTube has been intermittent.  I believe I have isolated the issue to excess upload traffic in our facility.  I am trying to understand the information presented when I log into our dashboard.  A two hour summary of the MS120 shows a download of 23GB and an upload of 19GB.

  1. Is there anyway to tell how much traffic is actually leaving the building to reach the Internet?  I believe that the indicated upload cannot be the amount of data leaving the MS120 through an MX64 to the Internet because 19GB over two hours is equivalent to about 21Mb/s.  We have a 10Mbs upload rate which I have verified via Ookla speed test.
  2. Can I prioritize specific channels on the MS120?
    1. If so, can I specify a priority time?

You want to use quality of service settings.  Switch>Configure>Switch Settings.

This is something that you are best to do via your firewall and not a switch port if you want accurate information.

You could also sort your network clients by usage and look at the last 2 hours worth of data to see where the culprit lies.
