Is 4 x 1GE Network Module supported on the C9300-M

Is the C9300-NM-4G= (4 x 1GE Network Module) supported on the C9300-M? It is not listed on the datasheet.

It does not appear to be. I would expect you to be steered towards either a 9300L model if buying new or the C9300-NM-8X-M if you  need to migrate an existing unit. I suspect it could be more easily added down the road with the new Native IOS-XE but haven't heard anything specific.

It would cause problems during onboarding for Meraki management and possibly for Meraki monitoring as well.  However, it may well work once onboarded.  I was going to test exactly this in February, but the DHCP option issues stopped the testing before I got to modules.  Hopefully I'll be in a position to test it soonish as the native IOS-XE release might have fixes for the DHCP options...

Can someone tell me if the C9300-NM-4G is now supported in cloud-native IOS XE 17.15.x? Has anyone been able to test this yet?

I am also interested in this topic.

I have 70+ C9300 clusters running NM-4G with IOS-XE, and I wanted to convert them to Meraki.

I would like to avoid having to buy 140+ NM-8X (list price $3000 /cad), In addition to the cost, it is something we do not need since we do not use SFP+ and do not require more than 4 uplinks.

Hi,

last week, the documentation for the upcoming IOS XE 17.18.x release was online for a short amount of time (the documentation was taken "offline" again in the meantime) and from what I remember, it explicitly listed the C9300-NM-4G network module to be supported with the new upcoming version.

According to THIS thread and the reply from @Minyi, IOS XE 17.18.x is in its final testing stage and the documentation also says it's "coming soon".

Best regards,

Chris
