Discrepancy between Website and Switch Filtering Categories

Why is there a difference between our website and the switch's filtering behavior? Despite contacting the Cloud to change our web content category from Adult to Business (Picture 1), the switch is still filtering the website under the old category. (Picture 2).  Can anyone provide insights or suggestions on how to resolve this issue? How can we ensure that the switch accurately reflects the updated content category?

Thank you in advance to those who assist in resolving this discrepancy. Your help is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you're experiencing a delay or lack of synchronization between your web content category changes in the cloud and the filtering behavior on your switch. This can occasionally happen due to a few reasons, and I'm happy to provide some suggestions on how to address this:

  1. Synchronization Delay: Sometimes, it takes a while for the changes made in the cloud to propagate to your network devices. If it has been only a short time since you made the changes, consider waiting a bit longer to see if the changes take effect.

  2. Configuration Error: Ensure the switch is correctly configured to communicate with the cloud. Verify that it's connected, and the settings for cloud communication are accurate.

  3. Manual Update: Try forcing a manual update or a reboot of the switch. This often forces the device to check in with the cloud and update its settings.

  4. Check Policies: Review the policies that are applied to the switch and ensure there's no policy that might be overriding the web content category changes.

  5. Contact Support: If none of these suggestions work, I recommend reaching out to Meraki Support. They can help you troubleshoot the issue and ensure your switch is correctly communicating with the cloud.

It looks like there are multiple websites on that IP address. If I had to take a punt - one of them has been hacked, and pornography has been uploaded to it.

Just because you request a change of category does not mean it will happen.  It may get reviewed, the reviewer might find that IP address is still hosting pornography, and leave the category as is.

The quickest solution will be to whitelist the website on your own MX.
