DHCP Server Options Clarification

Is setting custom DNS nameservers the same as using either DHCP option 5 or 6? If either is the same, which one and which method would be preferred?

No one should be using option 5 these days (that was for IEN 116 name servers that pre-date DNS servers).

Using the "DNS name servers" is the same as setting DHCP option 6.
