Configuring a large number of switches

Normally, when there are only a few switches to configure, the first provisioning is done by connecting to the rear management port and accessing the web page to fill in the management IP, mask, VLAN and DNS information.

Having said that, my question is: When we have a large number of switches to configure and we want to save time, is it a plausible solution as soon as we put the serial number into the network, to configure the information given in the paragraph above directly on the dashboard and then just upload the switch to the network? That way, we wouldn't have to connect to the management port switch by switch.

Yes, it is totally possible, if you feel more comfortable you can configure a new VLAN for this purpose, and activate DHCP in it, so you don't need to fix the IP, or you can also make an IP reservation in DHCP, but Meraki is super simple, you just need to have an IP that can communicate with the internet and the rest is basically configuration in the network on the dashboard.

I do exactly this 99% of the time.  I almost never give a switch a static management address - I leave it on DHCP.
