Compatibility of Alcatel-Lucent IP Phones with Meraki Switches

Hi All,

We are planning to replace our existing Cisco switches with Meraki models (MS210-48LP-HW and MS210-24P-HW). Our current network includes Alcatel-Lucent IP phones, which are relatively older models.

Could you please confirm whether these phones are compatible with the Meraki switches in terms of network connectivity and PoE support?

Thank you!

I don't see any issues with compatibility. The Meraki Switch, despite some differences, is a switch like any other.
The MS210-48LP-HW provides up to 370 W of PoE+ power, while the MS210-24P-HW also supports 370 W of PoE+ power.
These switches are compatible with the IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standards.
Most Alcatel-Lucent IP phones, even older models, typically operate in the Class 0 to 3 range, meaning they consume less than 12.95 W, well within the range supported by these switches.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

They work fine, including voice VLAN discovery.
