Cisco C9300L hangs

Hello,

I have just unboxed a new C9300L-24P-4X switch. My aim is to do the initial configuration required to onboard it to Meraki dashboard. I've powered on the switch, connected my console. The switch boots okay but it reaches a point as shown in the screenshot nothing happens, looks like the switch has hanged.

  • Switch ports seems to be functioning, I plug a cable and it blinks.
  • I've allowed more than 10mins time for the booting process.

I'm I missing something?

Do you want to use this CS with Meraki firmware ? If yes , I would request you get the CS 9300 ready with meraki firmware.

It's the C9300L-M so I guess it already has the meraki firmware. My challenge onboarding it to the dashboard. From the documentation link below, there are areas i have to access CLI, how do I do it while the switch seems to hang on console?  https://documentation.meraki.com/MS/Deployment_Guides/Getting_started%3A_Cisco_Catalyst_9300_Managem...

That looks like you are in Meraki mode, does the switch have a -M at the end?  You need to add it to your Meraki dashboard account with either the order number or the Meraki serial number on the sticker on the top.  It is the one with the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format.

It's quite different for Catalyst switches, it's not possible to claim the device on the dashboard with the serial number. I wonder if you tried and it worked for you?

Yes, you use the cloud I'd one, it will work unless already claimed.  What error do you get?

Just try to claim the switch by using order number or cloud ID.
Then just see if it shows online in dashboard.

Not sure console will still output anything after complete bootup.

Claiming the switch with the cloud ID or SN does not work.
