9300L-M stacking

Hi,

I have two switches currently in production that need to be stacked. If stacked, will the configuration on both switches remain the same as before stacking?

the port configuration of individual switch will remain same

My plan is to turn off both switches, connect them with stack cables, connect only one uplink from the first switch, turn them on, and make necessary config in Meraki Cloud.

Would this be OK procedure?

Yes, follow ‘physical switch stack configuration’ section here

@ammahend What switch will become the master/primary? Is there any way to configure this in Meraki dashboard?

As stated in the document shared earlier

  • If all stack members are powered up around the same time, the MS with the lowest MAC address will be elected the Active switch.
  • If the stack members are not powered up around the same time, the MS with the highest uptime will be elected the Active switch, regardless of its MAC address.
  • The Active switch will remain the Active switch until it's either rebooted or an event occurs that forces another Active switch election (such as stack ports being reconnected).
