Warranty MV12

Hi team,

I purchased the MV12W-HW device in March 2020. By March 2025, we renewed license, but the hardware warranty from Cisco Meraki was no longer available. We have read the warranty policy related to the MV12W-HW, which states a 5 year warranty.
Therefore, is there any way to purchase additional hardware warranty coverage for the MV12W device after the original warranty period has expired?

Thanks

Unfortunately not, in this case the ideal would be to replace the hardware with an equivalent model.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Hi Alemabrahao,

If I purchase an additional hardware warranty with advanced replacement now, will Cisco support it?

Theoretically, the end of support for this camera is December 31, 2030, and the end of purchase date is December 31, 2025, so you should be able to renew support.

See the list of dates.

Summary

  • End-of-sale (EOS) announcement: Date of official end-of-sales notice, typically six months prior to the last order date.

  • End-of-sale date: The last date to order the product through Cisco Meraki point-of-sale outlets. After this date, the product is no longer available for sale via any channel.
  • End-of-support (EOST) date: The last date a product will be affirmatively supported by Cisco Meraki, typically five years following the EOS date.

Hi Alemabrahao,

Are you absolutely sure about this? If I purchase the RMA upgrade service for my current MV12W device but it cannot be used, that would be troublesome.

Thanks

Typically if you buy the advanced RMA service on a device that is no longer supported the order gets rejected.

ps. The MV13 is a *way* better camera.  I like the MV13M with its expanded storage to give more retention time.
