RTSP Stream From MV12W To Dahua NVR

Hello I wonder if any of you guys can help me please, we have a 5 second lag using the Apple TV for Videowall.

The camera is used for an operational purpose and the delay is unacceptable.

We dont wish to put a pc in with VLC player.

Has anyone successfully set up a meraki camera on a Dahua NVR? (model dhi-NVR4104 )

There are no clear options for RTSP and i only have a field for the IP not the full RTSP URL of the camera.

I have tried this to no avail!

I get slightly different options if i set the manufacturer to ONVIF I can set custom RTSP port to 9000 but the camera status wont show connected & meraki cameras dont support ONVIF.

Thanks in advance!

You cannot connect Meraki Cameras to third-party NVRs. Meraki RTSP only supports live video.

External RTSP - Cisco Meraki Documentation

Use Case
External RTSP allows administrators to use third-party software that processes RTSP streams for additional analytics beyond the Meraki dashboard. It also enables the integration of MVs into existing legacy camera deployments.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

The only way I was able to get an RTSP live feed working with any software was by using Home assistant and setting up RTSP devices but be aware that MV devices only allow 2 simultaneous RTSP streams.

Apple devices are a known issue with the lag. Specifically, it doesn't support LL-HLS so it will be delayed by 5-10 seconds. Our solution was to use a NUC with the Meraki vision app. Lag is about 1 second.

On a related note, if you are US or five eyes, I would recommend not using Dahua. They are banned from most western countries for a variety of reasons.
