Meraki Display - Controlling Access

I am just working on a project that requires a number of AppleTV boxes to display VideoWalls in a number of locations around a site, there will be a specific VideoWall for each location that includes the cameras relevant to that location

When setting up access via the Organization>Camera & Sensor roles for SAML access you can grant a role access to specific cameras via tags.

Because Meraki Display still does not support SSO, we have had to create users under Organization>Administrators and grant the role "Camera footage & sensor" but there no way I can see to grant access by tags.

As a result, every user that logs in to the Meraki Display App sees all the VideoWalls and all the cameras on each.

We need users to be able to see specific cameras - if they were to select a videowall that contains cameras they are not entitled to see it ought to show those cameras as a black tile.  As it stands I see no way of controlling what cameras these users can see.

I must be missing something as this is a fairly fundamental requirement.

Kind of a big deal

Unfortunately, the Meraki Display App does not support granular access control by tags for users created under Organization > Administrators. This means that users will see all VideoWalls and cameras they have access to, without the ability to restrict views based on tags.

You can try creating local camera and sensor admins at the network level and assign them specific camera permissions.  Under the Camera and Sensor Only admins section, create a new user and assign the appropriate permissions.

Maybe it will work for you.

Ahh, I'm with you - thank for the mega prompt reply!

I was viewing the new version of the Network>Administrators page which a) doesn't show you what tags the account has access to, and b) has no way of specifying these when you create/edit the user.

As soon as I flipped back to the Old Version then I see what you mean - this can be controlled by tags in there.

Major flaw in the new layout!
