MV23X Wireless Issue

Hi,

I want to connect a Meraki CCTV camera MV23X via Wireless. I followed the next steps:

- I pluged the camera via Ethernet to configure it on Meraki dashboard.

- I created some Wifi profiles and assigned them to the camera.

- I wait 30 minutes, I could see the SSIDs, signal strength and WPA status as Enable (all correct)

- I disconnected the camera from Ethernet. I plugged the camera using a Power injector (802.3at) and it gets Wifi connection, but the connection always drops after 10-20 mins.

We use Cisco ISE to authenticate and assign IPs. I can see how the camera gets a correct IP, it's connected to Wifi, I can see the img on Meraki dashboard, but it always loses the connection.

I tested different Wifi Profiles. I tried one profile without using Cisco ISE. I tried to plug the camera close to different APs. One of them, without traffic, only the camera was the only client connected.

Can somebody help me?

Anybody knows if I can assign a static IP to the camera?

Where I can get some useful logs? on the camera I only can see

Thanks

MV cameras support Primary, Secondary, and Backup SSIDs for failover. They prioritize the Primary SSID and failover only if connectivity is lost. Wireless is not intended as a backup for LAN, it’s meant to be the primary uplink when configured.

MV cameras do not support static IPs directly. You must use DHCP reservations on your DHCP server.

What do ISE live logs show you?

Hi alemabrahao,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I followed that guide. I assigned Wifi profiles to the camera and waited 30 minutes.

After this, the camera got connected via Wifi, but the connection drops after 10-120 mins. I noticed the camera gets the correct IP, but I cannot see Wireless on the Camera Network information. It shows only Ethernet.

Regards

For me, the issue is more related to firmware, wireless profile, or power.

Can you test with another power injector?

I also suggest you open a support case.

yes, I tested with another power injector, I checked the firmware is updated as the rest of the cameras.

Thanks. I'll open a support case.

Is the camera using a current stable or better firmware?

Hi PhilipDAth,

it's using camera-7-1 firmware.

Also, I tried to move the camera to different APs, but it lost the connection after 10 minutes.
