MV Cameras as Bluetooth Gateways for Asset Tracking

Hello!

I am currently working on an asset tracking solution that involves using BLE tags. I've been considering using some of the Meraki MV camera models as Bluetooth gateways for these tags. According to Meraki's documentation, these cameras are compatible with BLE devices and can communicate with them within a range of up to 10 meters.

BLE tags from TagNTrack:

MV Models that support BLE: https://documentation.meraki.com/MT/MT_General_Articles/MT_Frequently_Asked_Questions#Connectivity

I was wondering if anyone here has used the MV cameras in this capacity before. How well does the Bluetooth gateway functionality perform in practice? Were you able to use it effectively for asset tracking, and do you have any tips or recommendations for someone looking to set up a similar system?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback or insights you could provide.

Thanks in advance!

The BLE in MV is only for communicating with Meraki MT Sensors.

For BLE communications with third party tags you'd want to look at using Meraki MR Access Points https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Bluetooth/Bluetooth_Low_Energy_(BLE)
