HLS stream delays??

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Direct LAN streaming and the slight delay due to HLS (HTTP Live Streaming). We are planning on putting about 20 cameras in our facility for patient monitoring in a healthcare setting and this little delay that the HLS causes is going to come up form our staff who will be monitoring this environment (we have a legacy cisco system currently that occasionally has 2-5 second delays and we always get complaints about this).

Pretty sure there's no answer to this but is anyone aware of a way to get around that slight stream delay?

Found this article here: https://documentation.meraki.com/MV/Viewing_Video/Video_Streaming and was hoping there are some alternate ways to get around this.

Thank you!

@Msquared1 if you want no delay then you're better off with a system designed for live replay like a traditional camera and NVR solution.  It depends how critical a delay of a few seconds can be.

I have 112 cameras deployed at our school. When on LAN, my delay is under 4 seconds, which is fine for our needs. Two seconds is very common.

You will have a 1-4 second delay when on LAN. If this is a deal-breaker, you may have to look at traditional systems.
