We're experiencing slowness issue especially with file transfers between sites that too in one direction. from SiteA to SiteB there's no slowness issue but from SiteB to SiteA experiencing slowness issue and sometimes connection hangs. did someone experience anything like this with meraki please suggest.
note: i still need to take some captures on both ends but wanted to check here in the community for some insights.
Kind regards,
Radha

From ISP side: Does Site A have a significantly lower download bandwidth?
From Meraki side: Do you have any bandwidth shaping on the clients (particularly on Site B)? Anywhere from group policy, MX shaping, MR shaping etc.
Some other observations:
- Is the slowness consistent?
- Does the transfer seem to max out at a specific speed?
- Is it only between Site B and site A or from Site B transferring to anywhere else?

no we dont have any bandwidth shaping.
- yes slowness is consistent
- at 500kbps after that it drops to 0.
- its not just limited to Site A. Transferring files from Site B to Site C also an issue.
download to Site B is not an issue when uploading it max out at 500kbps or even lesser.

Have you rebooted the MXs at all recently? What does the network summary show for device usage?

And just to add to the topic i have tested transferring files using ftp server and results are not that great its max out at 1.2mbps and stays consistent. I consider 1.2mbps still not acceptable. so issue not just with the smb traffic in specific. any further help would be much appreciated.

How far away are the sites from each other. Are they on different ISP's.
Check a traceroute between site from public IP to Public IP.
Check the MTU between the sites.
what is the upload/download on each site.
Is it Fiber\DSL\COAX.
on the Slow side is the upload Lower then the fast side?
If the path is between multiple ISP's most likely the issue.
Also try with IPS\AMP disabled.
For testing, what kind of device is used for testing. Try different devices on each side, and only test on hard wired.
