change hostname?

The hostname of my meraki is vpn.companyname.biz-(other characters).

is there a way to make it just vpn.companyname.biz

I like to use vpn.companyname.biz for the vpn connection instead of the long way if possible..

I know with Cisco ASA you can have it to vpn.companyname.biz if needed

What's the best way to connect to VPN?  Using the MX public IP or by host name?

I like to use a DNS name, so that when the IP address eventually changes you don't have to re-configured all the devices out there.

Why don't you just create a DNS entry in your main public domain pointing to your public IP address, as opposed to using the dynamic DNS Cisco Meraki one?

Thanks, question....

I have a static IP from my ISP, do I still need to be concerned about the IP address changing?  I still like the DNS name idea.

If you have a static IP - no.

Otherwise if you really want to, use a CNAME pointing to the dynamic DNS entry.

thanks for your help

Static IP adress should never change from what the ISP gave.

Enabling the dynamic dns is very useful when you have a dynamic ip adress from your ISP.
