Uplink Statistics

This is a pretty straight forward questions, but I can' seem to find any info on it.

Under Application Status > Uplink > Historical Data, you see connections statistics for Google DNS. I've added an internal DNS IP there that is at a remote site, but is connected through the Meraki site-to-site VPN. The problem is that I am seeing the loss to that IP at 100% which makes me believe that this feature doesn't work for internal IPs and only public ones.

Can anyone confirm with that that is the case, or am I missing something?

Thanks!

You can only add targets on the internet with IPv4 public addresses.

The "pings" are send from the WAN IP address - which can't go over the VPN.

So it would be pointless adding private addresses in uplink statistics?

@Adoos

I tested this with the IP of my data center MX hub (which I can ping from the remote site MX).

It won't yield any ping results after sitting for about 15 minutes. So while you can configure it, it won't do anything or work.
