Updating DNS while using Meraki MX DHCP
Hi,
We are currently using the MX boxes for DHCP services.
We have this set up to use our internal Windows 2016 servers for DNS.
Is it possible for the MX to update the DNS entries on our DNS servers?
Thanks

If I understand correctly, you're asking whether the MX can update a DNS entry in the DNS Server?
No there is no functionality for this .
The MX will pull the DNS name of a connecting client and populate it in the dashboard where applicable but it cannot happen in reverse - updating a client name in the dashboard won't create it edit a DNS entry in the DNS server.

Thank you.
Our DNS is Active Directory - Integrated. Would we need to find some other way to update the internal DNS records, and remove any aging or scavenging of records.
or is the best option to set any device that might need to be accessed by multiple users, like a server, printer or computer accessed via VNC, with a static IP address?

You could move your DHCP to MS DHCP and intergrate the DNS with MS DNS.
This has worked for me in the past
